I have these kits for sale:

Audio add-on kit for RGBtoHDMI CDTV v2

This is a kit to add audio features to these RGBtoHDMI CDTV v2 boards only:

* RGBtoHDMI CDTV v2 (PLCC)
* RGBtoHDMI CDTV v2 (TQFP) / (original)
* RGBtoHDMI CDTV v2 (SOIC)

The audio add-on board takes the audio signals from the CDTV and injects it into the HDMI stream.

You will need to solder the kit to the RGBtoHDMI CDTV v2 board. Here is an example of the kit soldered on to the RGBtoHDMI CDTV v2 (PLCC) board:

(RGBtoHDMI board is not included, it is shown for example only)

Note: For the RGBtoHDMI CDTV v2 (SOIC) board, the audio daughter board will have to be soldered at a slight angle due to intefrerence with the SOIC chips.

Further general details about the audio add-on feature for RGBtoHDMI boards can be found at:

The audio feature require for beta/alpha firmware to be used - please see:

This kit includes the following:

* Audio add-on daughter board
* Resistor adapter board (required to adjust the CDTV audio signals to the correct levels).

(RGBtoHDMI board is not included)

Hi, what's the difference between using resistor adapter board and an audio cable connected to L, R and GND on CDTV PCB?
I mean, if I already have an audio add-on would I still need the resistor adapter?
Thanks.

@gienekk

Where on the CDTV motherboard are these L, R, GND signals you are referring to?

The RGBtoHDMI CDTV V2 boards exposes the AUDL and AUDR signals that are on the board connector. It has been found that these AUDL and AUDR audio signals on the connector are not at the expected levels required by the audio add-on daughter board.

@solarmon

Cables would be connected to the pins of L and R audio sockets:

and to the audio add-on daughter board:

@gienekk

The audio signals at that location are probably/possibly OK to be connected directly to the audio add-on board. You will have to try and see if it works.

But to you need to figure out how to get those audio signals to the audio add-on board pads.

@solarmon

I'm planning to use cable with 3,5 mm jack socket soldered to audio add-on board pads and a 3,5 mm jack plug cable soldered to L, R, GND pins and connect them together :)
