How complicated would it be to have one of the kickstarts set up as 'insert kickstart'. I would guess it would need ROM + KS Ram so not trivial? It would be lovely though to maintain the original functionality.

Sorry, but with the modifications needed onto the motherboard and how the switcher runs, it's not possible to have KS Roms & KS Ram onto the same computer.

For information, five PAL switchers and 3 NTSC switcher are assembled (pictures below). Tests will be made tomorrow. :-)

Tests made. Finally, 10 operational switchers. 8 PAL + 2 NTSC.
1 NTSC doesn't work since I've oriented one IC to the wrong direction... :double:Doh::banghead:
Will be corrected and tested tomorrow.

As you know, there is a bi-color LED which allows you to know when the KS is switched. This is a rectangular LED which is unfortunately smaller that the original one of the A1000.
I have found a solution to allow you to replace the power LED of the A1000 with the bi-color LED. Now, the bi-color LED will be coated with heat shrink tubing. Like that, the LED stays in place into the hole of the power LED!

Members who have already a switcher onto their A1000 can find heat shrink tubing on electronic online shop (or on ebay).

Best regards,
Franck

Switchers sent to sjuswede, plasmab, ReneThomsen and APair.

Okay, after some PM exchanges with Daloway, it's appears that it wasn't possible for him to answer me about this subject.
Everything is settled. Payment received from him.

Interested in 1 PAL and 1 NTSC.

Questions: does it affect fiting DF0 ? In the manual there are 2 different installation instructions for 2 different PAL switcher versions, the second makes mandatory to install a socket on the amiga board, why? Does that depend on the amiga board ? Is one switcher version easier to install and han the other ?

Regards

Ruben

Hello Ruben,

Interested in 1 PAL and 1 NTSC.

Questions: does it affect fiting DF0 ?

No!

In the manual there are 2 different installation instructions for 2 different PAL switcher versions, the second makes mandatory to install a socket on the amiga board, why? Does that depend on the amiga board ? Is one switcher version easier to install and han the other ?

That was true with the very first version of the switcher. Since the switcher is a ribbon design, there is only one installation method. Now, you have just to plug the Universal PCB onto the two sockets of the A1000 PAL (modifications onto the PCB: resistor to add, track to cut are always needed).

The manual needs to be rewritten. The installation procedure is the same as the one used for the first version of the switcher which didn't need the soldering of a new socket onto the motherboard of the Amiga.

Best regards,
Franck

Thank you Frank. I confirm my order on the 2 switchers.

One line added into the table for one PAL & one NTSC switcher! :-)

2 PAL switchers ready for MoRetro and waiting for A500 switcher.

Have to send PM to jordanius. Don't know which version he needs.

Mine received. Not had time to install yet.

Happy to hear that you have received yours! :-)
You can find the manual link in the first post of the thread to help you to configure your switcher.

Feel free to contact me in case of any doubt.

Best regards,
Franck.

Payment received from dah31 for one NTSC switcher. Package will be sent this week. :-)
