Yes, some modifications (basic) are needed onto the motherboard of the A1000. You can download the installation manual available in the first post of the thread.
Yes, the switcher is totally compatible with ram expansions, accelerator boards or HD devices.

Table updating in progress from the end to page 54 included. I have to check the version onto this part. Seems to be inverted.

I just returned to the forum after an extended absence, and thought I'd check this thread. Is there an updated list posted other than the first page?

I add a line for one switcher for your A1000! If I have understood well, your A1000 is a PAL version (since PAL is the standard in Australia) but your A1000 has a piggy board connected onto the motherboard?
Could you confirm?
Seems to be a NTSC version modified in PAL version. It's not a problem. In that case, you'll need the "NTSC" switcher. The only difference in the two versions of the switcher is the socket pcb of the switcher. The logic is the same for the two versions.
