So I was expecting a package one of these days and finally I've got a note yesterday from the PO. However when I tried to pick up the parcel this afternoon, they said that it was picked up already this morning! :o How is that possible? I know I most definitely didn't pick it up! I mean I still have the official note, which they use to sign for the package and then you exchange it for the parcel! Besides they also check a picture ID and record the ID number along with the signature.

I have to call the central number tomorrow to file a claim, which is quite annoying. I'm still hoping this is just an administrative error, and not some kind of trick from a criminal mastermind. This has never happened to me before..

I will keep posting as the story unfolds.

Did anyone else had a similar experience before and what did you do?

That seems very bizarre, let us know how you get on buddy. I hope it is just a clerical mistake.

OK, so I've just received the tracking number from the sender, and the tracking says it was picked up at 9.53AM at the post office by some dude with a name completely different from mine.. WTF? Didn't they look at the address label to check the recipient? And still how did he get the pack without the official note?
This must be a mixup, I think the guy got my package instead of his by error.

Cant you do that choke thing and make them give you the parcel?:p:lol::D

ah yes tborro i sensed a disturbance in the force and the package has been taken by Ob1 :)

This sort of thing is maddening, you should receive compensation for their incompetence and wasting your time.

What a mess. You should talk to them in caps!

Has to be some sort of mix up, though, right?

it might sound silly, but is it possible to find out who picked it up and where they live?

maybe you could get it from them direct...surely they are local.

this works the same way here,i have to take a card in to get my post if i miss it.but...im sure the address is on it.

Sorry to hear your package is AWOL.

You need to go there and give them the finger of death. :)

I assume PO as in the ubiquitous "Red" van people! Only good for delivering letters imho.

TBH I really do not trust them. I have had some very bizarre and strange issues and the moment something goes wrong, it just feels they really do not want you to hassle them in anyway! God forbid if you manage to get hold of a human being, lol they got ape and get all worked up about it.

I only ever rely on couriers now because if something does go awol! at least you can get hold of somebody and find out, look for etc!

Cant you do that choke thing and make them give you the parcel?

Wow - thanks Taj, it actually worked! I have my package now!

I've just marched straight to the counter, waved my hand and said 'You have a package that belongs to Me.' and for good measure I added: 'Alert all commands. Calculate every possible destination along the last known trajectory.'

And the clerk said: 'Sure. Here you go.' and just like that, handed it over.

But seriously, something major must have been messed up in the Danish postal system in the last couple of days. I've tried to call central command - erhm.. customer service, and I was in a queue for nearly an hour, when I gave up and decided to go again in person. And the service number answered today saying 'We are experiencing an unusually high load this week, so please go to the website blah blah..'. And when I told the story to one of the guys at work, he said: 'Yesterday? That's odd, because I've received an automated SMS from the PO yesterday that I have a package for pickup. Even though I did not order anything. And when I tracked the package it said that evening that it was picked up and everything is cool' Ugh?

So the mystery remains at large - when I went today again, there was another guy, and when I explained the situation, he took my note, went to the back, then produced my package. He scanned it, I signed the note, he checked my ID, etc... The package also looked perfectly normal, no correction, tracking number matching, address OK.. And when I asked him what happened earlier, he said he has no idea, he can't see anything irregular in the system. And he is a temp that works once a month, but I can call this great customer service number where all my questions will be answered. Right.

If I didn't have the printout of the tracking, where it says my package was picked up yesterday (and also a second time today) I would be tempted to think that it was only my imagination.
The last explanation I can think of is that this 'Jakop' has returned the package today at the post office, and someone has changed the status of it in their system.

But in the end I have the goodies, and that's the most important.

The other guy must have been told "This is not the parcel you are looking for..." <Jedi sweep of the fingers>

Impressive, most impressive!
