I honestly thought the Amiga was dead and visited the Amiga 40 event because of a random post on FB. Was completely overloaded and couldn’t believe it at first.

Background: got an Amiga 1000 when they first came out and then an A2000.

Moved to Germany from Sweden and …

Don’t have these any longer and starting over with FS-UAE and a A1200 (picked last weekend). Will probably get a bigger /faster machine later, but that handles the immediate deprivation.

Thank you, qz3fwd! 🙏
It is what I hear too, makes me really sad I left the Amiga back then. But happy to see and experience that energy again.

@LarthWader - I got back into it just as the pandemic has started. For those of us who were there when the Amiga was at peak, it is really impressive what the faithful have been up to.

Agree 💯 %
That is good timing, hopefully you could use the hometime for ”important” stuff (and that Covid didn’t hit).
How did get back into the hobby?

To be honest, I never left. I had restored 1200/030 in storage with a new case and keyboard when they were still available. But then another Amiga I could not pass up came across my path locally, and for some reason a few more have found me since. :-)

Since Amiga 1000 was your first, check this little project (still completing) of a Amiga 1200 motherboard inside Amiga 1000 case.
