Guys. I've got bad news. I had a email from Amigakit (I as asking about ACA) and they told me that ACA accelerators have now been discontinued, Because Jens can't get anymore processors (They are are on eBay though). But couldn't he still just make the boards, and supply them without the CPU or better still fit a socket in the boards. That way he can still sell the boards, and we can get our own Processors, as now I'll have to see if I can get one with a wanted add here (That will be hard)....

There will be a new batch soon (ACA1233n and also ACA1221n). No idea what AmigaKit is talking about.

Well that's what they just told me in a email. Here it is

Sorry. They are discontinued because no CPUs are available.

So they're just talking about the ACA1233, not any other ACA accelerators. The new ones will be out soon I think.

Oh Ok. But why would he end the ACA1233, as it has the same processor as the ACA1231.

No 030 CPUs are available because Jens bought them all for ACA1233n. ;)

I think the n model uses EC CPUs (without MMU) while 1233 and 1231 mostly uses full 030 CPUs. At least that's how it is with ACA1221n. Don't know if 030 and 030EC are pin compatible? It could also be that 1233n uses the QFP version of the CPU which would demand a redesign, in case he sources a lot of those.

Is there much of a point when a A1200 version of Vampire is on the works? Maybe as a stop-gap, cheaper alternative. Well I don't know really! :-)

Once Vampire 1200 arrives, all ACA 12xx will be obsolete. Can't wait. :)

Me either. My 030 @ 50mhz a1200 feels so slow compared to the vampire v2 now ;) wouldn't be amazing if the vampire 1200 squeezed a ppc into its FPGA?

The Apollo team already stated there's no way in hell they'll ever consider PPC, and that's a good thing in my opinion.

Whilst I love the relative simplicity of the 68k, ppc would let me run wipeout on my 1200 and not just the 2nd rate experience you get on a MorphOS Mac mini. ;)

Doubt Jens is to stop producing aca accelerators, if so how will his Amiga Reloaded Mainboard work if its sold without a cpu?

If you want PPC, AEON, Acube or Amigakit would be glad to sell you a Sam or X1000/X5000. ;)

X1000/X5000 aren't even available i thought?

Trying to obtain one is like planning a foreign holiday to the moon! Apollo is on everyones Christmas list by the looks of things...

been trying to contact A-Eon, so far no luck :(

yup Apollo will be the way to go for me too if no new AO hardware
