Still haven't decided which version to get, but have been following with interest since announcement. Won't be long now :)

I'm definitely getting the PC version as it's how the game was originally intended. However, the Android version interests me, even if just to see how well it plays.

I am a big rpg fan but Baldur's Gate and the likes never really caught up with me... I don't like the turn-based/planning combat system... did they improve that or it's the same as the original?

Same semi turnbased.

Think I should get the pc version too, but the pad version would be so convenient!

Improve? A lot of RPG fans consider realtime combat ruining a game.. I personally am with them and much prefer semi-turn based combat, giving you the time to manage your group/team and prepare between each new volly of attacks.

A combat system I like more than most is the one in games like Dungeon Siege. Where it's realtime until you pause it, then you can manage the group, queue up attacks, spells, healing etc, then unpause and continue.

I wish they made a PS3 version but I will end up getting the PC version. I love Dungeons & Dragons, well most RPGs really.

This is just too much. My favourite rpg returns. How do I ever find time for this?
Actually, my wife wants to play it too.

So it means I will tend to the kids while she plays. :picard

I think the fighting system in Baldur´s gates 1 and 2 was very good. Certainly better than in any following games that they did.

I just bought it and downloaded it to both my pc and my wife´s laptop.

Looks like I´ll be having an adventure day out with the kids next thursday so that she can get started on the game

Why does this have to come out exactly when I am getting an arcade cabinet. If I´m very lucky though, I could get the kids somewhat interested about Puzzle Bobble or something :D

It is a beautiful game and best game story. Shame it is not free like Black Mesa :).

my brother refuzes to play turn based RPG's
well i say does. but i did manage to get him to play chrono trigger.

his main issue with the turn based ones is not being able to avoid the monsters and being sucked in to a second screen..

personally i am a fan of both systems turn based or real time.

i have baldurs gate 1 and 2 on the xbox. cant say they are my absolute fave rpg's most of my faves came from the snes era. like the afore mantioned chrono triger, or dragon quest games, secrets of evermore/mana..
and of course the legend of zelda 3

i think Bubble bobble is the game of choice to get kids hooked on, should keep them enthralled for quite a while :)
i know i used to spend hours with that game, although i do seem to remember hitting my brother for not blowing bubbles so i could jump up to the top on a few lvls.
Ahh the joys of being an older brother.

You mean the Xbox Baldur's Gate games Dark Alliance 1 and 2? These were not the same as the PC games. They were console games based on the same world, but not direct ports. You definitely need to take a look at this PC version as it is quite different.

Yes, completely different games in a different genre:)

Have you guys found out about what time tomorrow the release happens?

Oh and not be afraid of a little derailing, my 3 year old girl just insisted she must have a match of bubble bobble with my wife on the miggy. She just calls it "dinosauruspeli", the dinosaur game. That was a bit unreal and unexpected moment but fun :) So between that and Baldurs gate remake, looks like my wife is getting back into gaming. Good stuff :)

Everyone who preloaded baldur´s gate EE a few days ago, make sure to start your beamdog client again today because there´s 500 more megabytes to download right now. They´ve... enhanced the preload. Better preload all of it before servers die on release day!
