Hi Thanks for the reply,

I may have the chance of a bench scope from work, but I'm not sure of it's condition .... It's been in the bottom of a cupboard for over 10 years, plus size is an issue, I only have a limited space.

I was looking at something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hantek-60..._Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item1c3de69f18 I'm not expecting anything fantastic, but something I can muck about with and do a bit of fault finding and experimenting. Then if I don't blow it up and I get on with it I could think about upgrading :) .

Thanks for that :), I like the looks of the rigol but I still think the hantek type will help me decide if i'll get the use out of it, with it being 1/5 the cost it's not as much to waste if I don't.

Thank for the link though, I've seen a review he did on soldering stations a year or more ago and I do like his reviews. It made me want a Hakko soldering iron the only thing is they're hard to get over here and expensive .... annoying as they're a lot cheaper in the states but getting one sent over isn't worth it, So I'll plod on with my maplin special lol.
