Joystick

Joystick

Am using a Quick Shot Maverick I, which is gd for diagnol jumps but still the jelly fish gets me in Treasure Island Dizzy

Back in the early 90's it was a ZipStik for me all the way

Re: Namco twisty controller.

Had one back when I got ridge racer revolution :)

Impresive controller, took practice however. Once used to it, you could beat the devil cars a lot easier due to more reliable drifts etc. Never used on another game though.

Arcade stick on my Amiga and a Playstation pad on my PSX and PC (USB PSX pad converter).

KickOff on the Amiga....

No other joystick could bend a ball like this Atari....

For 3D games, Hori Pad Mini was the best I ever used ergonomically.

The original Sega Megadrive/Genesis controller is very, very nice. Bonus: It works on the Amiga

Has anyone tried them obscure Namco Neg-Con or Jog-Con controllers?
I had the one with the dial thing in the middle you could use to steer on ridge racer games (never tried it on anything else). I found it totally unintuitive just a complete novelty for my money.

Such a hard question as I have so many favorites.

For retro gaming it has to be the x-arcade controller. Breaths new life into any old game.

From the 16bit era it was the snes pad. Great and innovative at the time.

Moving forward as with a lot of others here I really liked the Dreamcast controller, but the Xbox improved on this with the S controller, and then the 360... so I'm going to say the 360 controller as I use one all the time for pc gaming unless I'm using the x-arcade for emulation or keyboard and mouse for fps style games.

But I also love the PlayStation controllers. The ps2 dualshock was great and the wireless PS3 version even better, so I would probably say that is my favourite for console gaming, with the 360's a very close second because of its close layout to the dc controller, and its comfort.

Now the real question is.what was the worst? That takes a lot of time to think as there were so many bad ones.

Pads, Then the Playstation joypad, but i actually prefer the version with sticks, as it's slightly heavier. And i pretty much hate the Xbox controller.
If we are allowed to talk about "newer" stuff, then my favorite stick is a Saitek Cyborg 3D. Well, if a 11 year old stick is still considered "newer" then that is only on this forum... Anyways. Great stick, i've had it for at least 11 possibly 12 years. It's a degree of on the centering for the z-axis (stick twist) but seeing as i've been trying to break it from day one, ("Turn, turn, turn more, shoot shoot, kill that mech!" Oh yeah!) that is to be expected i guess.
B!

It's got to be the wireless Xbox 360 pad for me! Just wish I could make one work on my PS3.........:D
