Best Pre-Configured Workbench for my A4000D

Hi everyone!

Since I've completely wiped my A4000D, I was wondering what you think the best Pre-Configured Amiga Workbench is for my system. From what I can tell, the options are:

Amiga in a Box
AmigaSYS
AmiKit (Beta)
ClassicWB

My system is:
Amiga 4000 Desktop
128MB RAM
Warp Engine 68040 - I believe 40MHz
Individual Computers X-Surf
Individual Computers Indivision AGA
Other Miscellaneous Hardware

I installed the ClassicWB ADVSP v27 software and I really like a lot of the features, but I couldn't figure out a simple thing like snapping the icons to align with others without sorting them (snap to grid or some such feature). I have the AmigaOS 3.9 CD so I wonder if I should just be using a different version of ClassicWB.

So, what are your thoughts? I'd love to hear pros and cons about each available option. I'd appreciate version numbers, if relevant, for your preferred option.

you have to go with whatever os you feel is best for you,sorry

if you have a 040 or 060 i would use 3.9 then its actually usefull
you deffinitely have anough memory

You might prefer the 3.9 version of classic workbench as it has a more traditional feel (without scalos)

It's a great base to upgrade too such as adding PeterK's latest icon Library and png style icons

AmikitOS is totally awesome but I only recommend it if you have a gfx card. WinUAE has a gfx card so I recommend this for WinUAE users as it is totally loaded.

ClassicWB OS3.9 is what I recommend for your A4000 AGA.

Both have been reported by multiple users to work with all my games. As my games bang the OS hella hard, any os that works with them is probably very solid.

Loads of ppl are using ClassicWB on their real Amigas and loving it.

I have not personally used ClassicWB. I have used AmikitOS and I also used AIAB back in the olden days. AIAB was kewl when it first came out but it never got updated for many years so I forgot about it. I used to like AmigaSYS many years ago but then after one update it broke compatibility so I reported the bugs to the author and stopped recommending it to anyone. So far as I know the AmigaSYS bugs never got fixed so I forgot about it like AIAB.
