Same as my other thread Best Mega Drive Games (Click here to see) but this time a chance to share your thoughts about some little known or rare SNES games that you may be playing on your new SNES Everdrive.

Seems as though there are way more SNES games available and that certain games from certain regions don't work - maybe here could be a place to not just talk about good games but also discuss problematic ones as well.

I have been playing some US games, mainly to test at present...

Turtles in Time and Chrono Trigger - both working well and both great games that I could never afford the Cart based versions of!

Another great little game is The Firemen - JAP version plays fine but I think there is a EUro version of the game - really good fun.

There also other games that I havnt forgot but it is too many list them all

Secret of Mana
People who say that one right off the bat seem to have a much different view on Secret of Evermore. SoE happens to be my most favorite game of all consoles. It is not incredibly rare, but it is frequently bashed as "the game that killed the Mana series for the US." -> however, I think not. People who like a game style tend to buy more like it. I like SoE and I like SoM. I payed for both of them and would pay for SoM3 if it came to the US as well; licensing's fault, not SoE.

Considering that fact that this is an Everdrive thread, get Seiken Densetsu 3 - translated as well.
And Live-A-Live

Seiken Densetsu 3 does indeed look to be an excellent game... I'll never sleep at this rate - so many games!!

Hitting one or two US games now that wont work - just state that "This game wont play on your system" etc... (eg. Art of Fighting US)

Wonder if just the 50/60 switch is needed or together with this mod the Region lock out chip would have to be modded/disabled also...?

I think i prefer my snes everdrive to my md everdrive.:)

In terms of of ntsc lockout it looks like may need to go down this road:

http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/nintendo/snes-switches-1.htm

This looks like the most straight forward mod (there is a switchless mod but looks more complex)

The other issue which will be of interest to people is the fitting of the dsp1 chip to the everdrive itself:

http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?35788-How-I-got-my-DSP-1-installed-and-working

(I haven't got this done yet)

Favourite games for me so far are:

Legend of Zelda
Mortal Kombat (all versions)
Street Fighter II (all versions)
Batman Returns
Final Fantasy II and III
F Zero (gd sound tracks take me back to the 90's:))

Can't stop... playing... ChronoTrigger... ... Must... do... ... ... Courseworks...

@Snoozy

Cheers for the links, I may have ago at that ;) especially using the stove to get the chips off :D

I think those people are jsut a bit bitter that Seiken Densetsu 3 never got released here. SoE is a good game in its own right, but I do think SoM was better overall. The one thing I don't like about SoM is the huge focus on griding - you have to keep casting spells and using your weapons to get levels up in them. SoE's weapons and spells only goes up a few levels thankfully and I find you don't really need to grind as much anyway to get through the game.

I'm happy that SD3 got rid of the grinding weapons/spells part altogether, although it still takes a bit to get enough XP to class change, nowhere near as bad as SoM.

Pretty sure its just the 50/60hz switch for those, I've got a few games that do that, I flip the switch and reboot and it comes good. Once they boot you can stick it back into the mode you want.
I believe that the lockout chip will just cause a blank screen, you won't get a message at all if the lockout chip tries to stop you playing a game.

Must plays:

Super Aleste
Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Super Ghouls N Ghosts

Sim City
Super Bomberman (battle mode - it's even fun vs the computer)
Mario's
Super Probotector / Contra 3
Super Smash TV
Top Gear 2
Super Mario Kart
Super Punchout
Rock N Roll Racing

Other good ones:

Another World
Sparkster
Sim City
Donkey Kong Country series
Parodious
F-Zero
Mortal Kombat 2
Gradius 3
Super Castlevania IV
R-Type 3

Stuff I acquired recently which looks good
