Hello

I wonder if someone can tell me the difference when it comes to the black CDTV monitors.
I have seen pictures that shows a black monitor with beige logo on the front and the big label is also beige on the back.
This monitor is also beige under the flap.

When looking at other pictures I see some monitors that have 1084s written on a black label, and again some other pictures show a black label with more text.

Also some monitors seems to be black and some dark grey color, and others seems to be completely black.

Can anyone shed some light on the various models? or even better post some nice detailed pictures of their monitor?

Regards

I have a black CDTV monitor (C1084S-D2) which was actually repainted in black (on the outside only) with beige front and back labels. This is how it was purchased as the labels and the bar code sticker clearly identify it as a CDTV monitor. I guess with Commodore being known for reusing parts, they had some beige cases which they repainted in black and sold with CDTVs until proper production run produced completely black models.
Another one I had (which I sold some 8 years ago), was completely black (outside and inside) with the black labels. Both were D2 variants.
I have never seen a dark grey model.

Hello Damiraga

Great that you could verify my picture searches :)

Wondering what the did with the area under the flap? Did they leave that part beige?

Yes, the part under the flap was left beige. With the way it is, it does not look very professional. On the other hand, since it came from the factory that way, it is somewhat unique (almost like a prototype).
I was considering taking it apart and painting the inside black as well, but the lettering above the knobs (volume, brightness, ...) would be lost, so I decided against it.

Hello again

Is the label on the back also beige?

Do you also have a barcode label on the back that says "1084s .... something .... black" ???
