@John, if you get one of the 3ds compatible flash cards you can use original DS roms. As far as i'm aware there is no flash card available as of yet that supports 3d roms. The card i used to have the supercard dstwo were the quickest to make updates available should the card become blocked due to a Nintendo update and also has official emulators for other systems.

Ive bought the DStwo card from Scrappy. It works with my sons 3DS XL

I think you need a 3ds compatible version of the r4, there are a good few available, but the 3ds side of things hasn't been cracked yet. You can only play original DS games on it. As per usual, it may be just a matter of time before it is cracked but whether the currently available cards will work on whatever crack they come up with is anyones guess.

It doesn't come with any games apart from the few that it comes preinstalled with.

Thanks mate but I'm going to pull out of this one. It was to replace my daughters DS Lite but she said she just wants a replacement DSLite (imagine that! A kid who would rather have older technology!).

I haven't fella no, I sold it but since got another with a 3ds compatible R4 and NSMB2 for the same price. Bargain!
