Unfortunately its up to the seller to check for wanted threads (if he/she wants to) before creating a for sale listing, the server does throw up some wanted threads just before posting to try and show the seller there are wanted threads.

The main reason why Wanted threads should NOT get automatic 1st in line is that anyone then can claim "1st dibs" on the golden goose.

I could create a wanted thread for a C65 , that does not mean when one comes up for sale its automatically mine if I can afford it. that would be unfair.

I have seen recently a couple of members when creating a for sale thread have added to their posting "Reserved for xxxxx as he has an outstanding wanted thread" and then the seller PM's the owner of the wanted thread if he/she is still wanting the item, but this is just a suggestion not a rule.

Agreed with Sardine, or another option is, if the seller wants to give the "wanted section" a chance he/she should state in their first post that they will give first in line to any wanted thread posted before their "for sale" post and give them a few days time limit to declare interest with a link to their wanted advert and the oldest wanted ad that declares interest is first in line, but if there are no "wanted's" it carries on has normal with the people declaring interest.

Just like Davideo did when he sold is Amiga 4000 Motherboard a few weeks back.

but if the seller wants a quick sale he/she may not want to have a time limit to wait for the wanted to see their sale

One or two others have done the same but it only works if you're not in a hurry to sell the item.

@All

As promised this is being discussed with all the Mods and Admins.

Can we leave this thread as a For Sale thread now please.

I have seen other recent posts were others have been understanding and let someone who had an advertisement step in line. Maybe this should be added to the "rules". Seems it's the right thing to do.

I don't really see how it could work as a rule, many popular items will have wanted threads, sometimes multiple wanted threads. Who gets priority, the person who started one 6 months ago? How will the seller even know who they are dealing with? Someone is first in line but first they must wait for to see if any "wanted thread" people come out of the woodwork?

I PMed a moderator and offered a suggestion. If someone has a recent WTB AD up AND see's a new FS listing, they should be able to jump in and ask. AND the SELLER should have the say so if they wish to do it or not. No posted ADs 6 months ago deals, only recent BUMPED advertisements and ONLY if they chime in, in a reasonable amount of time, not 4 days later after payments have been made, etc. Just a suggestion.

Anyway I will let this topic be and let the mods make any decision regarding that matter. Maybe something positive can come from this that everyone can benefit from. :)

OK, let me know what the go is and who I'm meant to be selling this awesome card to.

The rules are very clear on the subject. The order of expressed interest should be followed.

I indeed hope you follow the rules (obviously :)) I didn't create a wanted thread for a 1260 explicitly because these kind of experiences with other wanted threads I had and in the case of 1260 there are many threads so it would make it a very difficult decision to decide who should be first in line.
I am curious though what the state is of this sale. Haven't seen any update regarding the first person in line the past days.

Well in that case I expect a payment from astoneye soon or I will pass it to the next person in order of expressed interested...

I guess I will follow the ridiculous rules and "express interest" here and wait for that fabled blue moon for this since I am still looking for a Blizzard 1260!
