Hello,
Someone handed off an A600 for me to work on. He said he swapped video cables while everything was powered on, now there's no video.
The owner is a younger guy and mainly into the whole Octmed/DJ scene. He's an app user not an old fart worshiping old hardware (like me). I believe the A600 was a RetroPassion UK prepped machine
- it's PAL
- it has an A630 accelerator
- it has a PiggyBackNot v2 RGB2HDMI
- an internal gotek
- it has an IDE44 to CF card with WB3.1 license
- it has a 2.04 ROM
I've just started looking at the machine. There is no video on either the DB23 or the HDMI. I imagine either/both a Gary and Agnus are shot? My next step is to pull the ROM and replace with a DiagROM to see what's happening. On boot the gotek never accesses the drive. The gotek side it working fine - I can open folders/swap drives, it is more of the OS boot process never getting to the point of saying 'what's up?/gotta boot disk?'
Any ideas of things to check? Can I narrow down just Gary or Agnus with DiagROM?
