I am looking for a partial C= Vic-20 Power Supply.

I do NOT want to damage a good power supply.

Preferably a dead C= Power Supply (P/N 1001038-04) that you do not mind cutting and selling a section.

I would like the head of the power cord. Do a proper splice, solder, and marine heat shrink tube to a spare 902502-02 I have.

I have a PAL Vic-20 I would like to work on safely.

The PAL socket is larger with a divider wall. The pins are larger and further apart. So I can NOT safely use adapter as it is.

I will also need Shipping / Postage quote to the U.S.

Thanks.

Just an update.

Ironically, the first idea of replacing the Power Socket was cheaper than acquiring a parts Power Adapter. View attachment 105536

I was able to acquire a parts machine fairly inexpensively (Rev. C) View attachment 105531

I desoldered both power sockets, and swapped power sockets. View attachment 105532 View attachment 105533 View attachment 105534 They fit perfect. View attachment 105539

I would have liked to upgraded the power socket to a 7 pin Din round, but it would not have been a clean fit. The power switches were different and did not connected the motherboard the same way.

It now safely powered up.View attachment 105538

I immediately got a garbled screen. View attachment 105537 First thought was that my VIC chip (6561) was bad. I removed it cleaned and re-seated. Nice clear screen. That was good news because I don't have any replacement PAL VIC chips laying around.

Still some small issues to sort, as it sometimes requires a couple on/off cycles to get the boot screen.

I'm sure this will work in reverse also. If you have a PAL power socket to solder to a NTSC board.

You will need a video converter or a TV that will support the signal.
