so, i have had my 128 system for a while now and been trying to get back into the mood for game creation on it (my programming skills unfortunately after nearly 18 years are too rusty for anything original)

i was wondering if there was any interest for new ACS adventures (i have 3 in various stages of completion from as far back as 1986, i am amazed the disks were still good)

i was thinking of getting back to using SEUCK as well, and i had Mastertronic Game Creator in my collection and found an old disk full of platforms and shooters i'd made back then...

anyone still into these?

That sounds super exciting on the C64 software! I love seeing what everyone is capable of programming since I'm such a lump when it comes to programming. I have SEUCK on the AtariST, but that does no one any good. :D

i also have SEUCK and ACS fo rmy amiga 1000/500s but i tried playing with ACS the other night and just couldnt seem to get into re-doing just the graphics sets to suit my needs.... am getting either too lazy, or just too impatient these day....seems like i had a lot more patience to work on these things when i was younger, as compared to now...

i thought it was meant to be the other way around....

but since the c64 will be less 'involved' it is probably a better place to start.

alright, so i decided to start almost from scratch and re-do my ACS disks.

rather than just straight adventures i decided to do 'theme' disks with set creatures, items and graphic sets which can then be expanded upon to create adventures from.

i spent about 3 weeks basically just redoing all the graphics (you wouldn't think 8x16 rectangles would be so time consuming, but it seems to take forever to get it to look like what you want) and doing a world map of the Roman Empire for a roman themed master disk which encompases Britannia in the nw to egypt/judea in the se, including mountain ranges and rivers.

next i am planning to create a master disk for d&d type dungeon adventures, which will include the ability to choose race and class combinations.

also considering doing a Star Wars theme that would allow the player to choose to be a jedi, or a rebel soldier etc....

That sounds really neat! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

took me forever just to get motivated to get started, but 2 complete boxed systems cheap/free given to me cheap/free didnt hurt (not to mention a C= branded computer desk free too)

when i am satisfied with the first set i will probably make it available as a .d64, still have a few graphics to edit that i am not satisfied with, only just started on the items last night, getting most of the weapons done, next will be the creature sets....i am really quite happy with some of the graphics i have done for things like giant scorpions and spiders, hard to really get them looking like you want in a 8x16 cell.

i am actually surprised there arent many/any professional quality adventures floating around, it really is quite a powerful tool considering its for the c64.

i figure when i get the theme sets done it'll be a lot easier to actually put out decent adventures....since half the work will always be done and it'll just be a matter of building the 'world' itself.
