I'm trying to get Cannon Fodder to work with WHDLoad, but I can't seem to get the disks to image. I download the LHA from the WHDLoad website, extract it and run the installer, which puts some files in a drawer, but at no point does it ask for my disks or let me copy files from them. Anybody else encountered this, or know what needs to be done?

No, but it's been a looong time (2012?) since I did mine.

I have the working Disk files I can send if you can prove you have the original game disks (I presume this complies with the rules on software copies here?).

If the game is using a custom bootblock (NDOS), then you will need the original disks; copies simply will not work.

Thanks -- I'll send a private message with proof!

I'm using original floppies. It never asks for them, though, and I can't figure out how to make it do so.

last i looked, you could download the installs with the disk images installed complete ready to play
a little google search would show that

Normally the installer should create a popup that asks for each disk. I don't know which imager this particular installer uses, but perhaps RawDIC? If you only have the small WHDLoad package installed, you may be missing this tool.

But yes, it is much simpler to just grab the already installed package from somewhere, e.g. Retroplay's very nice collection (should be easy to find).

Thanks all. I kind of wanted to install from my own disks, as it feels more above-board so to speak. But if I can't get it to work I'll hunt down existing packages and use those. I'll try the full dev WHDLoad package and see if that is more cooperative!
