Boot fairs are pretty crap around here. I've found a couple of good bits in the past, but it's rare for that to happen

There was some Ninja who kept beating me to all the bargains today, a fully boxed N64 and an Atari lynx with a stack of boxed games for silly money :(

I only ended up with a Network 4 Port Switch (for linking up some of my Miggy's in the new office) a PS2 Game (Hyper Street Fighter II) and some brown tape for sending parcels :coffee:

Damn Ninja's! They're everywhere :ninja:

You know how we all feel now Steve! :p

Your tolerance for your own kind is disappointing. :D

:) after yet another crappy day these comments put a wee smile on my face... thanks man! and you deffo should have pistol whipped (using a supersquirty gun of course ;) or popped on a :ninja: of your own from a special edition C64 Last Ninja 2 set and proceeded to give him a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk280jVuH1w style beat down!
Well i'm glad you got some enjoyment out of it. A didn't remember anagrama saying tht though! Very odd, but yes Car Boot Sales have become quite stressful if anything now. Pretty sad as I remember the good days a few years back...

Best bargain I ever got was 2 'Breadbin' C64s and an Amiga 600 for £12 the lot. This included 2 boxes full of original C64 games (about 150 games in all), 1 C64 tape recorder, a box full of copied Amiga disks and loads of manuals / books.

Neither C64 worked, but I managed to make 1 good 64 out of the two, the Amiga was in perfect working order, but, thanks to a chap called 'Ruud' I bagged a ROM upgrade and shoved a hard drive in it to make it even better. I was chuffed to bits.

I bought a giant inflatable monkey the other week :)

It was kinda just there and I paid 50p for it not sure why though:?

To this day I still don't know but it is cool though every bloke should have one

Went to a car boot a couple of years ago and picked up a boxed Spectrum +2 with about 15 games, so grabbed em... Wandered back around a bit later and saw i'd missed more stuff, so ended up with another few games, 5 programming books, complete Input with binders and various other mags.

£9.20 the lot. Was quite chuffed, and all worked perfectly too. Bonus :)

Still, fleabay has pretty much killed off decent car-booting.

Agree with you about eBay

Luckily it hasn't killed off the second hand inflatable monkey market:thumbsup:

Is there such a thing as Car Boot Sales anymore? The only one I know of local to me these days is at Chepstow Racecourse on Sundays with the market... And it's crap.
The market itself used to be a great place to buy retro games. Picked up about 6 Mega-CD games back in 96 for about 15 quid.
Now, sh*te for everything.
