I have finally assembled 4 pieces of my new CD32-compatible automatic joystick switcher. This is an evolution of the switcher which you can find on GitHub, but it's no longer opensource. It's been scaled down in size and can now be used with CD32-style (i.e.: 7-button) gamepads. The only downside is that it doesn't support the 3rd mouse button nor mouse wheels (I guess, I actually don't have any of those to test).

This sale shall be intended as a sort of "public beta testing": I have only been able to test these to a certain degree, they work as far as I am concerned but there might be issues with certain controllers, Amiga models, etc. The adapters also have a "C64 mode", but it hasn't been tested and therefore it is not guaranteed to be working.

Consequently, I am selling these at a "budget price", but if you buy them you accept the risk and acknowledge that no returns will be accepted.

Selling price is 20€/each plus shipping (PM for quote). I also have 4 "spacers" (done with a male port and a female port soldered back-to-back, see pics) that will help clear the plug of the joystick in port 1, these are 4€/each.

At the moment these are implicitly reserved to some users who have already manifested some sort of interest in the other thread where I have been talking about this:
- jd64
- bozzerbigd
- Vagant

Each of these users (in order) will have 48h to get in touch with me for max 2 units. Other users please do not declare interest at the moment, I'll keep the thread updated.

PM'd with final requirements i.e. 2No. Switcher Units, 1No. Spacer and fully tracked postage. Awaiting instruction.

Hi SukkoPera, both switchers are working very well for me with no problems to report so far. They are perfect for SWOS 21/22 which has a feature at the title screen where if you have a mouse in port 0 the cursor will do random movements making it impossible to select any option so using the switcher I can simply disable the mouse and the problem goes away. I think this feature is for multiplayer and is enabled by default but annoying for just a one player game.

The switcher also works fine with sampedenawa's Hid2Ami USB adapter.

Still have some more games to test but so far so good.

I've only tested it with Mortal Kombat 2 for which it works great and mouse control on Workbench. The only issue I've found thus far is when I use JoyMouse to control the mouse pointer with the CD32 pad in the player 1 joypad port of the Amiga (with two switchers in use in both ports), the blue button doesn't reliably work for the right mouse button. Since that software is to allow the use of Workbench when no mouse is connected it's kind of redundant with these switchers anyway! I can't wait to properly test some CD32 games and The Settlers 2-player!

Great to hear most things are fine. That problem you report, @bozzerbigd, might be solved by soldering a 1k resistor between pins 9 and 7 of the output connector. Do you think you can try that?

I might have to ask a friend as my soldering is not great but yeah I could give it a go!

Yeah, definitely a few issues using the switcher in a CD32. Blue button response is not reliable although strangely MK2 is playable and 2nd button works reliably there! I've had issues with CD32 Guardian and Tower Assault with the blue button not being recognised at all on the switcher port! Also buggy behaviour with the shoulder buttons. Shame. I'll remove one of them from the Joypad port on CD32 and try it on my other Amiga.

Well, that is odd. Please make sure to try both switchers and to swap the controllers between the switcher ports.
