Hi,

I upgraded my copy of Amiga Forever to 2012 recently. I'm trying the CD32 pre-configuration from the launcher (then selecting my physical CD drive as source), and genuine CD32 cd's. The couple I have tried so far result in a "cd key" screen (actual gold key with "CD" on it).

Not having had an actual CD32 not sure what this is trying to tell me.

Anybody actually managed to use genuine cd's on a cd32 emulator or will I need to rip them to an iso image to get them to work?

Thanks,

Ian.

the key is the saves part of the cd32 it means its locked and needs opening to play

Thanks - managed to get things working my setting up a winuae profile myself using CD32 hardware type.

A bit disappointed though - even using cycle exact option and checking other settings sound is clipping all over the place. The "SND:" sync value at the bottom of the window fluctuates wildly and is often in low negative figures. Increasing audio buffers seems to make it just sit at low negative values a lot more often.

Got a capable PC so not sure why everything it out of sync/varying so much?

Can't say I've seen issues when using general demos and normal games in winuae though. Odd.

Whats your specs, as I have no problems on my 5 year old setup.

Well, I have a pretty decent setup - AMD Quad core cpu, windows 7 64 bit, 8GB ram etc.

Running music demos off the menu (like state of the art, nine fingers etc) play fine.

Could just be a setting I missed or things going out of sync when spooling movie files from CD (which seems to be the case with microcosm which was one I tried).

I could always try setting the affinity of winuae to a single cpu to see if it's a multicore cpu related issue.

Plenty of things to try, now that it's actually starting up the games as expected.
