I purchased a TF330 from supaduper a few weeks back and all has been working great with the Scalos based CF card that came with it.
However I decided to create my own WB3.1 based installation. At first I couldn’t get any WHDload games to work, they would crash during loading.
After spending many hours trying 4 different CF cards, reinstalling 3.1 several times, different versions of WHDload etc I’ve discovered that if I remove the preload tool type then most slaves work.
I’m using pfs3aio from Aminet and have max transfer set as 0x1fe00. I don’t see it’s a disk issue as I can copy the game/demo to ram disk no problem, but when I try and start it (from ram disk) with preload enabled it crashes.
Putting the same CF card in my A4000 I can run the slaves from the CD32 CF card (on a secondary drive controller). I have also booted from the CD32 CF card on my A500 with ACA500 plus (3.1 rom) and A1200 030 accelerator and the slaves also work fine with preload enabled.
I feel like I’m going round in circles on this one as nothing makes sense.
I’m leaning towards a CPU comparability ‘issue’ of some nature? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rob.
