CDTV Extended ROMs (various versions)

I have an A570 that shows on screen v2.30 and does give a red screen. Would there be any real benefit to me changing to the Cloanto roms ? Also as I'm struggling to find out for sure, forums and places give different reports. Does the A570 work fine with an A500 that has 3.1 roms fitted ?

Why are you getting the red screen? It was my understanding that the red screen only showed if there was no DF0: present. The only difference between the Commodore 2.30 and the Cloanto 2.30 is that Cloanto removed the red screen (because by default, a CDTV doesn't have a DF0:)

I'm not sure actually why I'm getting the red screen it doesn't happen all the time, it could be something simple like a dirty lens / disc. I'm arranging for the A570 to be serviced soon, So had thought about changing the roms should there have been any benefit.

Stating to what is written in the link of first page by Cloanto the new 2.30 extended roms have:

Differences between this 2.30 version and the previous 2.7 version:

  • cdtv.device updated from 35.12 to 35.14
  • bookmark.device updated from 6.6 to 6.7
  • cdstrap updated from 9.7 to 9.17
  • kludges 37.11 added (compatibility patches to address issued affecting known titles)
  • A690 ID added (no code, just an "identity" resident)
