Sadly I'll just have to pass...

I bought last year (June 2012) the Plus edition which John kindly shared in this thread:
https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=31132
It was a nice deal of 67% off at 9.45 euro (instead of 29.95 euro).
Despite not using AF at all (don't have it installed) as I have custom installation of WinUAE for my needs, I wanted to support it so I bought it.

I was surprised that the upgrade option for Plus version 2013 costs 20 euro.
Don't get me wrong it's 30% cheaper than buying a new one but from 9.45 euro (even if it was a nice deal)... spending double the price for the upgrade is a no for me :)

Good luck with Cloanto's sales though...

I've supported them for years, buying nearly every version on disc. Getting a real disc would be amazing, but they always include the same old extra DVDs in the deluxe version. I'd rather see a single original disk of the new version.

I also agree that the upgrade fee for the Plus edition is a bit steep for loyal customers. The maintenance fees to keep up with the latest version on most other software products is at most 33% of the full retail price. I'll give it time and wait for a sale.

^ true! I must have 3 sets of the same old video DVDs!
I'm with you guys on this one, will wait for a sale and then decide wether to get it or not... it's not like I use it :/

it's not like I use it :/
True! I like having the legal Kickstart/Workbench disks, but I always use WinUAE as a support tool for my real Amigas. I know they've been improving their RetroPlatform software that is part of Amiga Forever, but I haven't tried it in a couple years. Hopefully they will see some of this feedback. :)

It's still a great product and I'd like to get it eventually.

Speaking of it being on sale i just received an email advising of a 1 month special price for the upgrade of €14.95

I'm still happy enough with the 2012 version i have but thought someone might want it.

I think its only valid for previous customers not new.

The C64 Forever 2013 also seems to be discounted with the code.

Linky

In case the link doesn't work the discount code is AF2013E

Well, I bit the bullet and bought the Plus version since I had the 25% off upgrade coupon. I still think the upgrades for previous users should be at most 33% of the current full price, not 66%. I also wish I could get a retail disc of the Plus version. They produce a retail version of C64 Forever, so why not this?

Heather

Two days a go I've purchased the two AF & C64 upgrades (Plus versions), just to support Cloanto.

But I agree with Marios..... a 30% disccount is good, but for very old customers.........

Also the games/videos included are the same for years

Last time I bought AF was in 2010 (Value/Plus Edition). Already own 5.0, 6.0 & 2008 Premium...

Updates have been minor over the years so tend not to bother with it now. It's nice to use in some aspects as you don't need to mess with settings as much... so for the beginner or someone not used to the finer details of WinUAE...

If folk don't have any edition/s then the DVD's from the Premium set are worthwhile getting hold of.... but until they are updated drastically (even an HD version of the current DVD content would be nice but I doubt the original source elements are available (and to do the processing would be expensive no doubt)).
