Hi,

This Phillips monitor and a few others use the
m34eaq10x tube.

I've had a few of these monitors over the years and have noticed on at least two of them they appear to have an odd defect/manufacturer mark on the shadow mask. In modern in terms it most resembles a stuck pixel but I know that's a poor way to describe it.

I'm just wondering if its a result of how these tubes/shadow masks are made or if I've just been unlucky. More asking out of curiosity than anything else.

I've attached a picture. I realise looking at it it looks tiny but its noticeable at sitting distance.

Thank you

Looks like you've got two half pixels instead of one. It's certainly not a dead pixel.
Maybe @roy_bates has some suggestions?

defect in the shadow mask probably,im surpised you can see it,i never get that close to one myself

what does it does look like from a normal distance?

edit: normal being 2 to 3 feet away

At a distance its pretty obvious, it looks exactly how you'd describe a dead pixel on a regular LCD.

Will try to get a photo.
