Looking for the Programs for a CMD HD-xxx. Am adding a hard drive to an enclosure that didn't have one.

Thanks

Are you looking for the utility disk that came with the HD-200? The one's I have are:

CMD - HD Utilities
CMD - Geos Utilities
CMD - Utilities
CMD - CP/M Utilities

Let me know if this is what you are after. As far as applications, you can run Wheels and Wheels developement stuff.

Regards,

Rob

Thanks Rob. I'd love to get all. I purchased one off ebay and am waiting for a new scsi to sd card to come in so I can set it up. Never heard of Wheels. What is that?

David

Hi David,

Wheels seems to have replaced Geos. Or rather it was a later, enhanced version of it. Both Wheels and Geos required RAM expansion to run properly and so it required a beefed-up Commodore system. I believe this all happened in the early 90's. Someone can correct me here.

Do you have a Commodore floppy drive? Send me a PM and we'll discuss...

GEOS came out for the C64 in 1986 (and subsequently for the Apple II in 1988 ) and will run on an unexpanded 64, but runs quite a bit better with RAM expansion.

GEOS 128 was released in 1987.

the 8-bit version are all 'free to use' and the 64 and 128 versions can be downloaded from here: http://cbmfiles.com/geos/geos-4.php
(you'll need the Wraptor utility from the same site)

Wheels is/was commercial software, but good luck finding a legit copy :P
