Sold Commodore 1541 Disk Drives for spares

Hi,

I have acquired a number of 1541 disk drives and it's time to get some space back. I am selling these as spares as they all seem to have some problem. I know some were working fine up until I tried to load a dirty disk game and now they just make clicking noises as they try to load anything. Others are not recognised when connected to my Commodore 64. And one works pretty good but the clip doesn't click down after you insert a disk (it does sometimes).

All power up but require some attention.

Selling for £5 each or 3 for £10 plus postage, Paypal gift or you pay the fees.

Please look at the picture and let me know which one(s) you want if interested. They do not come with any cables, just the unit.

Do you still have all of these left?
I'm declaring interest in one of those that have the "rainbow" stripes just above the disk insertion slot.
The two ones at the bottom of the picture seem to be in the best condition. If that is the case, I'm interested in one of those.

Would it be possible to post more pictures of these units? Also, could you tell me which one is in the best condition as far as the exterior goes (yellowing, scratches etc)?
I don't mind fixing something internally, but it would be nice if the external condition is at least decent.
So the one I'm interested in would be the rainbow striped one that has the best exterior condition of the bunch.

Also, it's okay if a certain unit is not working, but I'm only interested in it under the condition that the drive has not been stripped of parts internally. Even though it's failing, I would like it to still at least have all parts inside it. I would therefore like to ask if they are sold as complete units or if some of them have been stripped for parts inside?

I'm also a little worried about the cost for shipping to Sweden. Could you find out for me how much it would cost to send it to Sweden / Stockholm? I don't mind if it takes time for it to arrive. I would still prefer the cheapest alternative. Thanks.

Looking at the picture again, it looks like the one at the bottom right is the one with the best exterior condition. But it's difficult to judge only by looking at the front like that.
Again, more pictures under the same light conditions of the drives having the rainbow stripes on them would be most appreciated.

Where are you in Lancashire? Is it possible that I could pop over and pick up a couple in person? Depending on how many are left after current interested people, of course.
 
is it possible to remove this rainbow sticker i wish to change that part on my floppy ?
 
Just wanted to remind everyone that I should be first in line for the rainbow striped one that has the best exterior condition, so I hope Kwaz will not sell any of the rainbow striped off to someone else until he has sent me pictures of them so I can evaluate which one is in the best condition (or at least before he has evaluated it himself).
The one that seems most interesting to me is the one at the bottom right, however I would like to discuss this with Kwaz first since you can only see the front panels of the drives in the picture.

It also seems like shipping only one drive to Sweden doesn't pay off, so I am now interested in buying 2 or 3 of them.
I'm therefore also declaring interest in the one with the turning lock mechanism (second one from the top, left row). If that is not already taken, that is.

As a third one (as I'm hoping to buy 3 of them), I'm also interested in the second from the bottom, right row.

Currently awaiting further info from Kwaz through PM.

You are indeed first inline for ONE drive as that is what you declared for within your first post.

Changing the quantity from one to three this late after so many other people have declared interest and arranged deals with Kwaz is not really on i'm afraid...

Correct I am offering these in turn of declared interest in the thread. And not PM's. I will sort this out later when I have time and deal with this fairly. As Davideo has said: TomCrazy has declared interest in one

TC has the next choice of 3 as Ocean has dropped out due to shipping costs.

Merlin is next in line for 3

I'm not sure what's gone and what hasn't at the moment but if there's a dive available that isn't the Vic one i'd like to declare interest:)
 
Hi all the rest have now been sold to Merlin as he's taking 3 plus the last 2 which would be the worst of the lot (including the unwanted Vic one). Please can someone mark this thread as sold. Sending a PM to Cryton to clarify this.
 
If I can do anything with these drives to get them working, they'll be offered back on here anyway. I've got two 1541's already for my C64s.
