For sale an old good basic A4000 desktop computer, ready to be upgraded for new projects
the system has just been tested non-stop for 48 hours, running utilities, demos and games.
it has been running well and stable for now, although such old equipment can easily break down due to age
the sale includes
- a quite complete A4000 desktop case in decent condition, showing 4000/040 label on front panel, which is quite yellowed.
- Rev. B motherboard ( recapped, battery removed ) FPU fitted on incl. A3630 CPU board
- original HD floppy drive (1760 kb Chinon recapped)
- KS 3.1 Roms, Super Buster 9 (socketed), Ramsey 7
- 2Mb chip RAM
- 4x4 Mb fast RAM
No mouse, keyboard, cables
this machine still needs a few fixes :
- RTC chip is not seen
- PSU has not been recapped afaik
- the floppy disk drive is temperamental , especially when formatting HD disks, but it reads fine.
In addition, I consolidated 3 vias on the lower part of the PCB ( SIMM sockets region ) during the recap process. ( photo 4)
looking for 900 EUR + Postage anywhere in the world
tracked & insured shipment within W. Europe should be between 50 and 60 EUR
I can post more high-res photos as long as I don't have to completely rebuild the machine.
