Hello kaini,

Is this JiffyDos modules ready to insert into C64 and 1541 or should I need any soldering.

Thank you.

Unfortunately need soldering, no plug and play, it is provided with switch must be solder, you also drill the case 5mm diameter to place the switch, the hard part is removing the original kernal C64C and solder socket 28 pin, the JiffyDOS is only compatible with 1541-II, do not have a 1541 can not sell it because can not test.

All the 1541-IIs I have seen had the ROM in a socket already, however, this may not always be the case. The ROM chip is U4 so you should probably check it first if you want to get one.

For C64, it is quite random whether it is socketed or not. From the ones I have seen it has mostly been soldered in, so it is a bit of work to remove it and put a socket in it. Again, it may be in a socket already and it is easy to check. :)

Received the package but there is an issue. PM was sent to find a solution.
Pm reply.

SID was not working, but I have received a full refund for it, so the deal is finished. JD chip for 1541-II is working - have not tested JD for C64C yet, but it'll probably also work fine. :) Will post feedback.
