Does it work with Win10?

Item arrived today, got it working after a bit of a play around.

For those with Windows 10, search for unsigned driver install.

I installed the unsigned driver and confirmed it was showing correctly in device manager. However, I kept getting the error "NO PLUGIN DRIVER!" when using the cbmctrl detect command.

After a bit of searching I found that "instcbm xum1541" got it working. Not sure why/what this does compared to the standard install.

Commodore floppy drive to USB adapter (mini xum 1541)

Declaring interest in one full complete unit. Can you please send me a pm with details and a quote for postage to Switzerland.

Thank you.

Withdrawing interest for the moment as I have too many ongoing projects involving other retro-hardware. Thank you anyway.

I'll buy one while they're still available and send you a PM in a sec. Just in case I ever need one for anythingtm.

@cercamon

No problem

@warkopz

Your adapter has now been shipped

Received, but I am having difficulties in making it work with Win10. I tried as it has been wrote to install the xum1541 driver to no avail. Any ideas?

I had the same problems last time I tried to install it, but when I tried a different OpenCBM version it worked.

This one works for me in W10 x64 (use the amd64 version inside):

Was away for the weekend, but warkopz got his adapter working after all so that is good, and also PM replied to D_L.

Just a few more to go. I have still got some PCBs after these, but no other parts, so I can't promise if/when more will be available.

hi, if you still have the mini xum1541 for sale - i'm interested in buying one! how much is shipping to sweden?

@68k

Excellent timing, I have in fact been putting together the last batch of the boards and components just this week! Shipping within Europe is €7, so I'd like a total of €27 for a single adapter. I'll drop you a PM.

@ajk

payment sent for one mini xum1541 - thanks!

btw, do i need a commodore 1571 for that speedy transfer you showed in the video? i.e. does mini xum1541 utilize burst mode? i guess commodore 1541 doesn't have that feature... so, have you done any benchmark tests with commodore 1541 as well?

Payment received, thanks! I'll get the board shipped as soon as possible, although due to Easter it will probably take a couple of extra days.

Unfortunately I have only got a 1571 here to test with, so I can't confirm what the speed is like with the 1541. Perhaps OpenCBM's documentation has something to say about the matter?
