What disk model is the internal drive chaps?

is it a 1541 as per the 128D?

it is a 1541, the 128D = a 1571

It is a 1541 but with a different plugs (1 on the SX and 3 on the 1541 apparently). Luckily the colour coding is the same so it can be modded easily enough.

I was lucky enough to find a replacement drive on the other bay which just needed some TLC to get it going again. Unfortunately the original does not seem to want to play ball anymore.

Would a 600 motherboard be a better idea? Being smaller and nearer to the size of a c64 motherboard?
