Another high priced x86 machine in a chinese case. This time it looks even worse than the mini. The a1000 I have to say is one of the most beautiful amigas ever. But this doesn't credit the original more than the size of the case which frankly is pretty useless. Even if they had recreated the old 1:1 but just swapped the diskdrive with a optical media it would be a good effort. but this.. Is it wrong to want to beat whomever approved this with the actual item? It is CUSA and they are a bunch of :censored: so it is what you expect. but still.

if someone made new cases to fit real amigas in like this i think it would be nice even slightly higher with addons like mediator or grex.

I like how they didn't even bother finishing the "amiga" engraving.

Or picking a good spot for it.

I'd just like an aluminium machined 1:1 A1200 case in anodized black. That'd look sweet.

CUSA effort is pants though, just looks a cheapo media centre case :overactor:

Maybe, just maybe if CUSA and a-eon had the decency to merger, we could have an x1000 in something other than a standard pc tower. who knows, they might eventually come up with something useful too. Come on, rotating Amiga x1200 xoing ball case with octa core powerpc7 and geforce 790 :boing:

I also quite like the look of the case, not sure about the Commodore or Amiga logos but the case looks quite nice

Witchcraft I tell you! Witchcraft! It'll never work!

Their layout keeps getting worse with every attempt. A freshman graphic-design student having his first experience with pot could do better in an afternoon. And it's gonna be all kinds of fun brushing your hand against the un-sanded edge of an aluminum case. (I'd say, "have we learned nothing from the Power Mac G5," but I'm pretty sure we have, and it's just these yahoos making Apple's mistake over again.)

But then, what else do you expect from this group of hucksters?

i have to say i like it what fits in it? itx ?

come on you lot , commodore(of old) would either be running windows or a linux based thingy ma bob by now if they had survived anyway.

Mike, it's not what's in it, it's the case i commented on. And if you already like it...

Great, those who fancy it can do a better job on it than C-USA.

Dimension: ----- 435mm×390mm×70mm (L× W× H) [17.125"x15.35"x2.75"]

Heck, you can even maaaaybe cram in an a1200 mobo in it. (isn't those 420x190 mm? the ports might be a :censored: to fit though.

or if you do as the hacksaw-gang it can fit pretty much everything.

I was thinking about CUSA yesterday and my idea to them is, sell replica cases only. For the real hardware (Amiga C64 VIC20 etc.) Since it seems to be a shortage of A1200's in the USA someone should make cases there since shipping a motherboard is a lot cheaper..
Also the idea for cool aluminitm cases sounds very nice. If they now have the rights why not continue the legacy, i can only foresee them goin belly up in a few years if they keep up with this crap, but what do i know about business?

I think they have, it just looks like crap.

Really not interested (and never have been) at all in these new fangled overpriced products relying on nostalgia for sales... I think they know it will sell as with anything with that branding or the booing ball *ahem* X1000...

I said my reasons so many times so meh, not my money at the end of the day.

Well, I happen to think it looks quite nice...

:coffee:

Yes, it does look quite nice, possily a Silverstone case? The little trap door thing on the lower RH side looks like it's been roughyl fitted. Is this a photo of a prototype?

Guys, excuse the divvy question, what's a 1:1 case?

Yeah I think it must be a prototype because I can´t see that case in commodore usa website.

I think by 1:1 cases they mean replicas of classic commodore cases.

I'm not so sure they would Mike. If the C= of old continued with the AAA chipset and Amiga OS I'd think they'd have probably ported it to either Intel or PPC platform still with custom graphics chips and maybe NVidia would now be a subsidiary of C= . Just my wishful thinking:)

Perhaps this is a discussion for another thread though.

thanks Mendel

CUSA are just gouging the old C= fans with this stuff. It's a PC in a silver case that says Amiga on it.....what does this really have to do with Amiga?!

I would have more respect for CUSA If they made cases like this to fit the original hardware OR replicas of the original cases to fit the original hardware. But selling PCs with the C= or Amiga logo on it is stupid IMO. Especially since they overcharge for them. The PCs in the C64 cases were outrageously priced.

hmmm.................another pc in a pc case with the name amiga on the front.

to me the case lets it down more than the hardware, its cheap looking, infact to me it looks like a cheapo dvd player from asda.
