I have one nice VIC20 for sale.
When i tried to diagnosed it, i desoldered all the chips, one by one, and i couldn't find the problem
After socketing all the chips, and exchanging them from working one, it wouldn't work properly, and refused to give me satisfaction of repairing this devil 
After so many sockets and soldering, it was the CPU that failed, but this was the first chip i tried to replace, before putting all new sockets (2 sided instead old one sided), and when i replaced the CPU, not the socket beneath, it didn't work. The problem was both CPU and the socket, but at that time i didn't know that After socketing all the chips (imagine how long it took me to do that), i started to change the chips again, and after changing the CPU - it worked!!! Tested for a few hours, it worked great (all the keys work, joystick port, expansion port,... everything) !!! Not to forget, VIC is also recapped with new high quality caps, cleaned fully, all the keys from keyboard are washed one by one, like the motherboard and the whole case! Power switch is also new.
With this VIC, also comes the PSU, but i recommend new one (or change the 7805, caps, diodes, and resistors on this one), 'cause we all know what could do the old PSU to the chips on Commodore
I'm asking180€ 160€ 150€ for this VIC + shipping costs, but remember, all the chips are socketed (see pictures), so any later possible diagnostic will be a lot easier now. It took me too much time and sockets to give it for less.
