Hello:

About to list items for sale for the first time. As I am not a techie, but have mainly used the creative/productivity hardware and software, I will be unable to answer detailed questions about the equipment, and will be relying on photos to show as much as possible.

Just to demonstrate my lack of knowledge, I am located in Canada and am wondering if equipment manufactured for North America will function properly in Europe.

Could anyone answer this query, please?

Regards,

Wayne

We can't say for sure unless we know which hardware we're talking about. What can cause problems between US/CA and EU is the supply voltage of 110V and the NTSC video standard. For the supply voltage, that mainly affects the PSU of the device which cannot be used directly, but if a buyer has a 220V power supply already, the device can usually work with this supply. NTSC devices may not produce a picture on a PAL monitor, although some can support both standards. Today that is less of an issue than it was back in the 80s/90s since modern displays can usually handle both standards equally well. A buyer should be aware whether the device he is buying is made for PAL or NTSC though as it can also affect other things like software compatibility. I know some EU buyers go specifically after NTSC machines since the 60 Hz screen rate often makes games go 20% faster than their 50 Hz PAL versions which is supposedly closer to the original speed of the arcade version of said games.

That is very helpful, thank you. I will make sure that I am clear about what is being offered.
