computer temperature?

I have G73J Laptop and I am wondering about the computer temperature of CPU and GPU

When come to Gaming Mode....

CPU = 55c

GPU=71c

Do I have anythings to worry about?

Should I update the ASUS Bio as I got 3 new updated?

hi mate they seem boarderline have you given the fans a clean or blowout and maybe use a laptop cooler base when gaming

does the updates change the temp settings it not i would leave if running ok

I have cooler fan underneath my Laptop

Do I should blow the GPU Fan as it got little bit of dust


Every time I turn the computer on and the ASUS Live update telling me that I should Upgrade my BIO but I have cancel it every time because I am not sure what Bio Update does!

How long does it take to reach those temps when gaming? I personally think those temps are ok for a laptop under load (considering i've seen higher temps in desktop PC's). Laptops usually run a bit warmer anway due to limited space for cooling.

55 is fine for a CPU, especially if its an AMD using a stock cooler. If it hits 60 you may want to get some better thermal paste or a better cooler but as it is its fine.

70's is pretty low for most GPUs IMO.

On laptops the temps again are fine IMO. The CPU may be a tad high but get yourself some Arctic Silver 5 and replace the current thermal paste and you'll see that settle nicely.


With laptops there's usually a little heatsink at the end of the heatpipe near the vent. Usually that gets clogged pretty easily and causes more heat issues than the dust in the fan. Get an old paint or toothbrush (must be very dry as in not used recently) and go over it. If it's clogged enough you may even be able to pull it out as one lump.

How long does it take to reach those temps when gaming?

30 mins of gamings

For just Surfing the net and I used this

Entertainment Mode? I rarely used that

High Performance? I used that often, sometime the CPU reach 50 to 55c and GPU reach up 60 to 70c depending what game I play....

The game I have play was ZERO HOUR when I post the screenshot of CPU and GPU....Sometime it does have slow down(like stop an start...I think it is do with SSD Hard drive That cause it ) when I play against 8 Hard armys at the same time(My Fav Zero Hour map...Death Valley) and I thought that shouldnt be happening because it is i7 quadcore but I havnt turn the TURBO Mode(it bit like overclocking the cpu) which is 3GHZ :wooha:

I havnt check the CPU OR GPU if I was playing FM 2012 or other games apart from Zero Hour.

I used to repair Asus laptops for a living. It was very common to find that they had not removed the little bit of tin foil that keeps the thermal paste clean on the cooling unit before it was fitted. This means essentially that the paste doesn't touch the GPU. If you are comfortable doing the necessary dismantlings I would definitely consider removing the cooling unit, cleaning and giving it some new thermal paste

It should ideally last longer than 2 years though (that laptop model was released in 2010)... Many companies including Asus use Shin-Etsu thermal compound which is actually quite good and should last a long time without re-applying

I prefer to use Arctic MX-4... It's the best stuff i've used in years

yes ,normally they do last more than 2 years but some pcs ive had the thermal paste wasent applied properly in the first place.(it wasent spread out or there was too much)

Also consider taking in account the ambient temperature. Also, make sure that the ventilation grooves aren't blocked.

What CPU and GPU are in the system? Look up the maximum safe temps for both, then you will know the limits you should be within, and therefore if your system is running OK.

Definitely try replacing thermal paste and giving the insides a dust with some compressed air if you think they are too high.

Very Stable System but I was wondering about the CPU and GPU temperature if I was worry, it is good to know and good to learn from people on here

I agree with this wholeheartedly. If there are no issues, there's really nothing to worry about. As I mentioned the temps are within normal expectations and as the old saying goes... If it aint broke...

The temps looks just fine by the way so you dont need to worry anyway
