I have a CSMKII 060 that I can OC to 60MHz. Can't go any higher than that. It will lock up after a few minutes. Is this due to the 060 not able to handle or the RAM? I tried various SIMMs and nothing seems to work. Do I need 50ns SIMMs? Years ago I had a nice MKII that was OC to 66MHz, it rocked.

Those normally should do fine at 66Mhz with normal 60ns SIMMS, perhaps your 060 chip is not so tolerant to OC ?

Lack of refrigeration?

Good point rkauer  I forgot that, at 66 Mhz a heatsink + forced air (i.e. an small 486 alike fan) is advisable especially if the 060 is a rev. 1 one.

For rev. 6 060 a heatsink should be enough if you OC it to 66 Mhz, but also it wont hurt a fan there.

Well it does have a crap 486 heatsync and fan on it, maybe I need to upgrade? :double

Lack of refrigeration?

Well, you see I am a little frustrated as of late. I live in Seattle, not Miami! :picard When it's summer here it can get a little warm. I guess I need to get some air conditioning! :readit: But it seems some of my Amigas are not handling the hot temps too well! It's been 80-90 degrees F in my house most of summer. Thankfully it is getting cooler out now. Was 60 today. :)
