Hi to all.

I'm just updated one of my A4000D-T's (towerized A4000D's) with the Kickstart 3.2.2.1 and Amiga OS 3.2.2.1, everything is working fine, but I can't get to work the PPC side.

I tried Warp-UP 5, PPCLibEmu, PPCUser, ... no way. The CSPPC works only like a CSMK-III.

Also, I can't use the CGX drivers, works fine only with the latest versions of P96, actually using v3.3.3

Any idea about the PPC?

My setup:
  • Motherboard A4000D
  • CyberStormPPC 604e (68060/50 PPC233) 128MB RAM
  • CybervisionPPC
  • IndivisionAGA 4000 MK1
  • PCB Mediator "Mirage Pro": PCI-Zorro III
  • Deneb USB
  • FastATA MK-V
  • Extra RAM board 128MB
  • MacroSystems Toccata
  • CF adapter for boot HDD's
  • DVD-RW
  • HDD SSD 256GB
  • FDD 3.5"/880K
  • Kickstart 3.2.2.1
  • AmigaOS 3.2.2.1

Thanks

Does WhichAmiga show the PPC? Seems strange it is not giving you a reading on it I'm going off what my BlizzardPPC does

I have problems only with KS & OS 3.2.2.1, if I change the KS with the old one (3.1) and OS with my 3.9BBx setup, everything works fine, both 68k & PPC sides.

Whichamiga crashes with KS-OS 3.2.2.1

Do you use AmigaOS 3.9 and upgraded to AmigaOS 3.2.2.1?

AmigaOS 3.2.2 causes lot of trouble, while 3.2.1 works correctly.

Install 3.2.1 again and everything will work again.

I have a Cyberstorm MK I 060 + SCSI with 128 MB memory , ZZ9000 RTG card with ZZ9000AX , Oktagon 2008 SCSI card, Indivision MK 3, SCS ICM Microsystems PCD-50B card reader

Benq DVD 1670 IDE and WD 80 GB HD.

I use a clean OS 3.2.2.1 setup, everything works like a charm: CSPPC (68k Mode), CVPPC, FastATA MK-V, Indivision AGA 4000 MK-I, Toccata, ZoRAM 128MB, Deneb USB, etc., the problem is only on the PPC side. The available libraries don't work and crashes the Amiga.

Warp3D also works fine, slowly of course, becasue the Permedia2, but works.

Standard, try installing:
WarpUP_V40
WarpUP_V40Upd
WarpUP_V51Upd
Warp3D_4.2a
Maybe some installation isn't necessary, but this is how it works for me.

Hi,

I have reinstalled the libraries and the PPC side seems to work fine. But WhichAmiga or Scout don't detect the PPC. However, SysSpeed does and the Warp3d PPC demos work very smooth and clear.

I need to investigate a bit more ...

I am trying to do a similar thing with the Blizzard PPC but I am failing miserably on the PPC side

My setup is in an Elbox Powertower case with the Zorro IV & Mediator ZIV FastATA ZIV with video slot adapter

I currently have a Voodoo 3 and a PicassoIV which are actually playing nice together Why 2 RTGs you say, well the Scandoubler& Flickerfixer on the PIV is just amazing (I know right, one expensive Scandoubler& Flickerfixer!!)

I have currently Installed Amiga OS 3.2.3, but I am on the kickstart before this one, I have not go around to updating it.

I can get the Warp3D 68K Gears to work but normally with the PPC its usually a grey window and crash, I can some times get the Gears small window PPC demo to work but this is rare and none of the other will load without crashing the system.

Also Apps which don't use warp3D seem to crash on start-up or crash eventually ADOOMWOS is the longest game that runs depending one what settings I uses ,Now I'm not ruling out that the BPPC is not faulty and may need to ask @stachu100 on his thoughts. in regards to the 68K side its rock solid

I also used the Amidock from 3.9 but it seems to stop screen modes from switching so will be looking into the WB dock you are using @merlinkv

Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who have had any success with a similar setup.

How have you got the PPC side of things setup? Are you using the inbuilt PowerPC.library on the firmware of the BPPC? Or are you using a SS line to reset the 040 and pump in the newer PowerPC.library?

I use MMULib's which sets up the BPPCfix at the start of my startup-sequence, if its not there I get a warning window come up

WhichAmiga shows the PPC processor is there, one thing I forgot to mention is the setup reacts the same on WinUAE I've not tested ADOOM yet on WinUAE to see if it eventually crashes.

Also does anyone know how to increase the PPC speed on WinUAE I can only get 99mhz its funny when the gears go faster on the 68K emulation and the PPC emulation acts like a real 060 would  On my old laptop it would be the same only 99Mhz which I thought was because it was getting old but on my new all singing and dancing laptop I thought I would get an increased speed but no change.

Oh and I also have tried PPClibEMU to see if that would help but it seems to make things worse.

Out of a matter of interest. Have you flashed the BPPC card onto the latest Firmware from here:

On one of my Cyberstorm A4KD setups I’m not using BPPCFix and Which Amiga shows the PPC. I seem to recall that using BPPCfix can mute this in WhichAmiga.

As for WinUAE, sorry, no clue!

Yes I flashed to 44.71 there is apparently a @Cosmos 44.72 one but I cant find that anywhere

I thought BPPCFix was only for the Blizzard cards not the Cyberstorm ones due to the PPClib being in the rom of the BPPC

In regards to scout mine also shows 0Mhz like @merlinkv

When you google "Warpup and Amiga OS 3.2 setup" there is not much info out there. looks like I may need to revert it back to a Kickstart 3.1 with Amiga OS 3.9 but I didn't do to much testing with it on the PPC side when it was in that configuration but at least I can rule out if it is Amiga OS 3.2

I hate taking it apart though it always has an issue when I put it back together lol
