Can't say I blame him for getting rid of his Amiga stuff. I suspect Commodore would have been a dream job that few other jobs could measure up to. To have actually worked on the Amiga and constantly be reminded of "what could have been" by things like the AAA prototype really would be depressing.

I dreamed of working for Commodore when I was in my early teens tinkering on my C64 and A1000. Even today, computers just aren't the same... Remember when computing was fun?

At least the money is going to a great cause.

I have been looking around the net and reading up on AAA and what could have been and kinda wondering if in some way all this could be put into an FPGA, just for fits and giggles.....then I came across a website and according to this site, Dave sold his NYX in 2001 : -

http://www.amigahistory.co.uk/prototypes/nyx.html

What gives? Did he have two of these? or is that site full of it? anyway colour me confused.

Well that is the board sold now. Was an Amibayer the winner?

It's not me :(
I'm interested in the GARGAUNTARAM card!

i had a look through the whole garage sale, for me it is all junk and some sentimental value wich is owned by him, and can not be sold. You can not sell own experience nor love.

good if he is raising money for a close relative for cancer. I have all my respect for that desease. A shame it has to go like that, it should be covered by local goverment or other insurance not ebay. Since cancer is caused by several factors. Mostly goverment related or already paid, like cigarette taxes, industry polution, fuel polution, and much much more already heavily taxed stuff...

Spending on that is rather pointless for me:roll: exept of course spending on a good cause.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Dave mentioned that it was for a close relative. This is what he wrote at the bottom of the NYX auction:

"At least 50% of all sales will go to my Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure fundraiser. I raised about $2800 last year, and yeah, I walked 60 miles in 3 days! I'm not using eBay's direct donation facility because that's through another non-profit that takes 10% for themselves. This also lets me distribute any proceeds through other team members, if I do get a team together this year (every 3-Day walker has to raise at least $2300 or they don't get to participate). If you're not buying this, but find yourself with some spare cash anyway, you can still donate directly, visit www.the3day.org, click on "donate to", and enter Dave Haynie."

So he's planning to participate in a "fight breastcancer" (or breastcancer awareness) 3-day-walk event, but to be able to participate he needs to raise at least $2300 first (start-fee). I'm guessing the event itself will also be some kind of a big fundraiser.
