Hello everyone, this is my first post here for selling in AmiBAY. It is a pleasure to be part of this forum.
I am currently selling the following DEC Workstation:
DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) Alpha AXP33 / Multia / "noname" Workstation sporting an Alpha 21066 166 MHz processor inside a clone AT tower box.

It is been at least 10 years ago since I turned it on, so the batteries that it carries for the RTC and NVRAM have been discharged and it cannot boot fully. Only what is seen in the images or in the video comes out on the screen.
From what I was reading, once it reaches this point, the computer launches a prompt through the first serial port when it has a problem with the NVRAM, and from here it is where you can enter the commands to boot process (on the hard disks are Windows and Linux installed).
Since I do not have time to "play" with it, that is why I published it for sale.
This is important because the person who buys it should know that this equipment requires fixing this booting issue on their own (I cannot help you) before you can do anything with this computer.
Video of the workstation booting:
This is a computer with RISC processor therefore it only works with operating systems and specific software for Alpha processors.
It can work with operating systems such as:
- Windows NT 3.5, 3.51, and NT 4.0 for Alpha (I think there is beta version of Windows 2000)
- Digital Unix 3.0B, 3.2, 4.0
- Alpha-Linux (RedHat, Debian, Mandrake, etc.)
At the time I stored it I had it working with Windows NT server 4.0 sp 6 and Internet Information Server 3.0.
It also had the MILO bootloader that allowed you to choose between Debian and Windows.
In its day it was functioning as a Web server and Proxy of a network with 5 clients, working day and night without hanging up once.
In addition to being a super robust and safe machine, since DEC was purchased by Compaq and then it was extinguished by the latter, and they were discontinued, there are already very few units of these machines.
