DiagRom and usb/rs232 adapter

Hello,

I got hold of a Prolific USB to RS232 adapter and 9->25 converter from what I thought was a decent place.

However, I have no luck (at all) getting DiagRom to send anything through it (using mac, with coolterm, but tried minicom etc on windows too).

USB serial port is being recognized, everything seems good hardware wise - also checked the pin out of the 9->25 adapter...

Anyone have a combo that works ?

PS: I have set 9600 8n1 etc, with and without flow control (I remember Chucky mentioned somewhere he used an extremely simple approach).

Are you using null-modem cable or just 9>25 adapter. You need to use null-modem cable.

I use Prolific USB to DB9 + DB9->DB25, am I totally wrong ? - I remember using this before to connecting to console on my firewall.

You need prolific USB to db9 then db9 to db9 nullmodem cable then db9 to db25 adapter.
