i remember so old microvited multiscan (multisync?) crt monitors which worked nice with all amiga´s. do the nec lcd´s also do? and what about the highgfx driver i´ve heard about? can i use 1024x765 on a standard A1200 without any other hardware? how does it look then?

Re: do "newer" nec multisync lcd monitors work with A1200´s?

No. All LCD monitors cannot sync down to the A1200's native 15Hz screen refresh.

The only way to connect an LCD monitor up is by using a scan doubler. The highgfx graphics mode you have heard about is part of a scan doubler/flicker fixer that can be installed inside the A1200 so that you can connect up standard PC monitors. The only downside is that it costs over £100.

hmm.. BBOAH tells a few lcd´s that can manage 15khz but they are ugly (not the biggest problem) and i cant find any of them on ebay??

and look here:

You need a good display or a CompServ AGA flickerfixer for the A4000.
On the A1200 you need a good display or the new Indivison AGA flickerfixer.

Supported displays without flickerfixer:

HighGFX is a monitordriver for ECS/AGA-screenmodes up to 1024x768.

Changes from HighGFX 40.5 to HighGFX 40.6
- higher AGA frequencies (54 Hz 22,24 kHz -> 55 Hz 22,22 kHz)
- higher ECS frequencies (50 Hz 20,25 kHz -> 54 Hz 21,81 kHz)
- hopefully all known bugs are fixed

NEC Multisync 3D

Sony GVM-1310
Sony GVM-2020
and all other monitors, that supports 22kHz modes.

Experimental 1280x720 (HD720) driver included.

so who is right? the site or you? :lol:

does that mean if i could get one of the lcd´s i meantioned above or art crt from that list i could use 1024x768 WITHOUT the flickerfixer?

complicated... :roll: :twisted:

You can add:

Fujilink FU1901W (widescreen, but works)

Fujiulink AT-W19PT (19", 4:3 aspect ratio)

Both units are 19".

Don't know if newer or bigger units are still compatible.
