does A500 PSU work on an A1200 ?

does anyone know if the A500 PSU will worth ok on the A1200?

No it will explode...


Only kidding, it will be fine and in some cases better than the original as some A500 PSU are higher ampage.

A500, A600, A1200 power supplies work on either of them.
The heavy A500 seem to be the best around.

The psu of an A590 will power up a CD32 with SX-1 nicely by the way ;)
 
I think by heavy he means higher power output, not the actual weight of the PSU, there are many types of PSU out there and the power rating (AMP/Wattage) differs. It is marked on the bottom and indeed the 4.5amp is the better one.

Just make sure it's serviceable, after all they're 20+ years old.

The A500 PSU should work fine, as long the unit is good condition.
