Most people i talk to use either gotek setup or cf card / hard disk.
Do you ever use your Amiga floppy drive? if so what for? I'm curious

I use it for the same reasons I did back in the 90s.Sure I have WHDload and all of that, but there's nothing quite like the real thing and booting a game off of a disk. It's also convenient for quick file transfers with a modern PC using CrossDOS etc if you're using an Amiga without USB or ethernet, etc. I also use floppies to boot C64 games, although I do use JiffyDOS with it.
There's nothing wrong with Gotek at all btw. I'm not one of those purists who say we have to stay in the past.Just that I enjoy that bit of nostalgia for some of the games that I played back in the day to relive that experience.
have been thinking of moving to gotek, but i have always thought that in order to fix an amiga software wise i need to be able to write a disk on a working amiga to use on the failing amiga. Obviously thats not true anymore but still the more convenient way.
I used my floppy drive such as copies disk(other game) as someone point out that oringal game disk does worn out fast thought hence why I used copies(Blank disk) games![]()
oh hey Xanxi, did you get another cat?I use a floppy disks in case of emergency, if i have ruined my startup-sequence or anything like that, to boot with necessary tools. I sometimes also need to backup an old floppy disk to adf.
I have very few floppy drives still working perfect and i have been thinking of moving to gotek, but i have always thought that in order to fix an amiga software wise i need to be able to write a disk on a working amiga to use on the failing amiga.
