Ive finally got myself a DC after about a 9 year break..

anyway here she is a little yellow but playing happily to itself

1x DC
2x controllers
1x arial lead
1x vmu
1x pwr lead

and a handful of games too for the cost of a few pints of beer

Dreamcast's rule.

Undisputed best console of its day, trying to find a LAN adapter is like hens teeth though!!!
Gotta love the utopia boot discs as well.
I still have a couple at home that i still use, been loving Ikaruga recently.
danm annoying though when the cell batteries run out in the VMU's.
There is also a thread on DC-EMU about a guy in China selling them with a modded BIOS and an SD card slot for homebrew apps

AFAIK it contains different boot code so homebrew is easier to load, i think it has some extras for loading "backups" as well.

Brilliant buy MJ!!! DCs just frikken ROCK! Ive got several here and at one point I used to have every official accessory released in the UK (including the maracas!) as well as the Broadband adapter from abroad

Yes there are Serial to SD card adapters made for the Dreamcast but you will need to boot from a CD to access it. There's plenty of YouTube stuff about it.

I used to squeal like an excited kid playing Quake 3 online with Freeserve on my trusty dreamcast

Hmmm 4 player online action with mouse and keyboard back in the 2000s - the console was so ahead of its time. Only Xbox LIVE comes close to capturing that same feeling of console online gaming. I am really pleased I managed to play the DC at is absolute peak, great times.

Skies of Arcadia (RPG) is good too.

I want to go get my DC out now (I now have many more too!).

BBBBBEEEEEEEEPPPP goes the VMU as you switch on the DC and the fan noise! Wwwwwooooshhhh! Scccrrreeeeech, screeeech as that laser bombs up and down reading your CDRs (or sometimes GD-ROMS!).

Can you tell I love the DC?

I haven't owned one before and see them on my local advertiser quite a lot and think to myself should I get it as my wee room is becoming overcrowded after reading some of the positive comments in here, may just end up getting one
