HI Guys, incase anyone may have missed this, Elite Dangerous is out on Kickstarter following on from Elite and Frontier.

I have pledged and really hope this comes out, video and conceptual art is up now

I'm in, but a little part of me hates myself for encouraging someone to collect £1.25M for this...

I used to work in an office next to Frontier Developments in Cambridge, (sadly not in the gaming industry!). I always wanted to go knock on the door and have a grand tour! I wish I had the guts & time to ask him to sign my Elite box when I was there.

I also find it interesting that they suggest they are successful company that they could not find the financial reserves to fund it. Maybe they are gauging interest? Also it could be used like an interest free loan...

Kickstarter is a very interesting concept on many levels.

It's a really nice way to get some pre-orders before you even start development. Definitely a good gauge of interest. Just look at OUYA. You think people are excited about that??

Either way 1.25 million GBP is NOTHING in terms of development budget these days.
