Hello there my fellow AmiBay'ers,

A while back I had a few friends say they would be interested in obtaining an EverDrive MD for their Sega MegadDrive, 32x and Sega Master System needs.

This is a fantastic all - in one solution for the sega MD/MCD/32x oweners that even allows you to load and run Master System titles! I have been looking for one of these for some time as it would be great for the retro-shows (as well as curry night with the guys ;) =D

Features:Flash cart for SEGA megadrive/genesis and nomad systems

  • Super Street Fighter II supported!
  • most SEGA maser system games supported.
  • 32x games supported
  • SEGA-CD bios loading
  • hardware megakey
  • 32kb FRAM for game saves keep. FRAM it is some like SRAM, but this memory not need battery supply for data keeping
  • save ram data can be stored or loaded from SD card
  • saves available for megadrive/genesis and master system games
  • SD/MMC cards support.
  • FAT16 support. 2GB max partition size
  • flashed game will stay in memory after power off. so no need to choice and reflash game after each reset or power off
  • connection to PC and any additional software/drivers is not required
  • SPI port. usually it used for SD cards reading, but can be used for some other action. it can be used for communication with micro controllers, for example
  • module system (you-tube)
  • GameGenie codes is supported
  • Supported SD/MMC size 2GB max

You would need to provide an SD card and a case for the unit if you want to. I have received an email from retrogate and the postages 1 - 5 units are the same $4 usd. I may ask for a higher-insured delivery for more than one item.

The cost of these units is approximately £45 for 1 unit (not including postages), I am sure with a big enough order there could be some reduction in that.

So here is a thread for us to organize a group buy for the EU/UK members.

There is usually quite a limited stock, so please list your interest over the following week, from here and we can see what deals we can get =)

thanks for reading

Z

I got an EverDrive some months ago and I can say that it really rox!
It fits like a glove in a normal MD case and in general it does exactly what it says.

Oh crap why dos`t anything I want come in to my price range any more ...

£20 to 30 in a few weeks perhaps

but that said its still a good price

Count me in for one - will be much easier to use than my current parallel programmed flash card.

What are the chances of getting a Master Everdrive included in the bulk purchase?

@thread

I have been contacted by RetroGate, with 10+ units it would $65 each (£40.50) + shipping's =)

@fatbob_gb

I shall enquire my friend ;) =)

When I was a scener back in the days there used to be this thing called the Double Profighter which was a backup unit for both SNES and MD. It had a simple collar adapter.

I wonder why they never made a dual one?

I'm interested in one. Let me know when u need the cash

As for the N64 - I have a couple of Bung's Doctor 64 units which sits underneath the N64 and loads games from CD. Superb.

@Rolux
Yes mate. As long as the socket and the cartridges are the same... you don't have any issue :)

Are there any plastics for it? Ah, I see you butcher an old cart...
You can see pictures of my Everdrive MD cartridge installation as well as download an image that I created for the label in the following post. :)

Will it run with the Sega Megadrive II ?
If you can use Sega Megadrive games in the Megadrive II then it should work just fine. :thumbsup:
