Hi everyone,

Let me state first off that this is a 'fantasy' hardware post - this isn't fact at all, just me thinking out loud:D.

I was just thinking if Jens ever made another iteration of the Indivision ECS, additional features I would love to see are HDMI but the small form factor plug as seen on the Xbox360 & PS3. But just to put the cat amongst the pigeons, I would love it to have AGA emulation so if the Amiga in question was equipped with an 020 or above it would be possible to play AGA games on a ECS machine:blink:.

I guess I got onto this train of thought thinking about the buzz that was about a couple of years back trying to get a RTG emulation for 256 colours on current Indivision ECS - the ultimate solution in relation to compatibility has to be AGA maybe?

I'm guessing this would be possible as Cloanto effectively know exactly what the chip 'does' in emulation - maybe some wizardry could be done to apply this to a physical chip? Obviously cloning AGA chip would likely be illegal i'm guessing?

A Saturday morning topic :D

Written for fun only - I wouldn't know if it is within the technical realms of possibility..

I'm no expert but generally emulation requires considerable (eg 10x) the power of the machine you are emulating. And as the slowest AGA machine was an 020, I can't imagine a non-AGA 020 would be able to emulate it. Might be wrong but that would be my assumption.

Before planning an Indi ECS MK2, Jens Schoenfeld should first complete the Indi ECS software. Graffiti mode? Nothing but words.
There would be nothing without the benevolent work of other people (Picasso 96 driver, Shapeshifter driver, Doom), mostly only beta unfortunately.
Great picture quality though. The Indi ECS is way better than the Indi AGA (and i have an Indi ECS, AGA MK1 and MK2 and AGA 4000).

No, if I want to do AGA, I'll switch to one of my A1200's or A4000's.

I think new Indivision's, both ECS and AGA, should focus more on becoming scandoubler and RTG in one card with auto switching.

Interesting stuff - sorry for the guys struggling with Indi AGA still :( I think I have been really pleased with the individual Computer stuff I have brought. I agree a documented chunky mode for the ECS would be absolutely awesome as Novacoda could port basic stuff like Wolf3d for the platform.

Some really interesting points there. I don't think a emulated AGA Amiga could ever replace a true AGA Amiga, I don't think it would have the oomph for a start or the place in peoples hearts:thumbsup:

I would love RTG mode for an ECS machine if I couldn't have AGA

See I told ya :ROFLMAO: 😂
