What I don't get, why are only CD ROMs a problem? Isn't SCSI meant to be HW independant?

Can you explain a bit more about this?

I wish I knew! It's very strange. Only happens when MMUlibs is installed. Thomas Richter says he cannot reproduce the error on his system.

As repeated here. The issue sounds to be the BFG. I am under the impression that the BFG may have different firmware to those currently being sold. Unfortunately the Firmware update process on these cards ain’t straight forward.

Worth a read here:

This is why I gave up with the BFG as it was too flaky even in my A4000D setup.

There are other alternatives such as the new Terriblefire 4060 and the Z3660 which have more FASTRAM. The Terriblefire has been tested in SCSI environments.

Worth a search in YouTube for reviews. Chris Edwards has started a series on the Z3660..

Yes it's the BFG9060. I've spent £5k on this system so far and am reluctant to spend much more tbh. I have me BFG9060 up for sale, if someone buys it I'll buy a TF4060, but I'm feeling like I'm almost done with this system :(

I think you're on the home stretch! Don't give in, I want to see this computer fully built :)

I have a CSMK3 060 with SCSI that perhaps you'd be interested in. It also has a CVision PPC. If you don't have luck with the TF4060, my advice would be to check out a Z3660 of hit me up for the CSMK3.

You got mail

IMHO, why bothering with "SCSI CD-ROM" drives when you can make use of better options, be it SCSI DVD-drives... many drives, be assured.
