This is controlled by FlashFloppy firmware because OSD controller only emulates LCD screen so basically it shows then same data as LCD, if connected.
OSD shows up when you change adf, and when computer is reading/writing data from/to floppy drive. In my opinion it shows for a little too long, 10 seconds would be enough.
Update: now I see that many details of FlashFloppy firmware operation can be configured with a config file placed on pendrive. Looks like default is 60 seconds but can be changed to other values.
display-off-secs = 0-255 (60*)
Turn LCD/OLED display off after N seconds of inactivity
N=0: always off
N=255: always on
