Hi guys,

here I have a very rare console for sale...

FM-Towns Marty 2 in very good overall condition!

The CD-Rom works perfectly.

One issue to mention is the floppy-disc-drive which reads discs only from time to time... I was able to format a complete disc and write/read some save-games - but always needed many tries for it - sometimes it didn´t work at all... The drive-belt was replaced by a rubber-belt which fits very well - I don´t now what´s the problem with the drive...

Other then that the console works perfectly! and has no bigger scratches or hard signs of use (of course it´s not new and is a used item!!!)

The console ONLY was availible in Japan and has some very, very nice LucasFilm and Arcade games for it! For example:
- Zak McKracken
- Loom
- Indiana Jones 3 and 4
- Truxton 2
- Flying Shark
- Raiden
- Splatterhouse
- Chase H.Q.
- etc, etc.

Price for console including game-pad and power cable is 260,- EUR + PayPal + shipping - SOLD

Next to the console I have some games for sale too... These are:

Loom by LucasFilm-Games - 300,- EUR
Sim City - 50,- EUR
Dungeon Master - 50,- EUR
Microcosm - 30,- EUR - SOLD
Each Price is + PayPal and shipping... (these - of course - can be combined!) You can see everything what is included at the pictures...

Kind regards
Calavera

Hi mate,

I can send international with Hermes - to UK it would be 18,90 EUR for insured and tracked shipping.

Surely doesn't. An FM Towns is one of those consoles that I really want, but always seem slightly out of reach. If only the Marty had RGB I think I'd be all over this.

Hey Calavera, that Dungeon Master is english text, right?

At dungeon master you can choose the language from a bootmenue which apears automaticly when you start the game... It´s the same with 90% of all western FM-Towns/Marty games which are textbased (at Loom of course too!).

RGB would be fine - but belive me - the S-Video signal is fine too! I never missed anything - it´s really a nice System (I only sell it because I just have another one which I got together with a game I really, really wanted ;) ) The big plus on the marty is, that you can easily plug it to any TV and play the games sitting on your couch...

For myself I like the arcade ports which are availible for the system most (next to the LucasFilm Games of course!). As for example there are

Truxton 2
Flying Shark
Twin Cobra
Raiden
Splatterhouse
BubbleBobble
Rainbow Island
NewZealand Story
Marble Madness
Chase H.Q.
and many more...

Most are 1:1 (or very close to that!) ports of the arcade original you can´t find on any other system in this quality... and all run perfectly on the marty!

Looking to the LucasFilm games - especially Zak McKracken, Indy 3 and Loom are by far the best versions ever released! You definately should check youtube in this point! Zak for example has a complete superior graphic compared to PC or Amiga - not to talk about the Sound! Indy 3 and Loom are far superior when it comes to that - and again... all of them run perfectly on the marty ;)

Cheers!

Interested in the console. I'll probably have it sent to the UK if I get the chance to purchase it but could you also give me a postage quote for Ireland?

Do you know if the floppy drive can be replaced with a HxC if it can't be repaired? I see on the website it supports the FM Towns II http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/

Shipping to Ireland will be the same as for UK - 18,90 EUR...

If the floppy emulator will work I don´t know - sorry! but sounds good! :)

Great. Not sure where I am in the list? I think I am first to officially declare interest? Obviously I don't want to step on any toes though :D

Sorry one last question. What are the dimensions of the console? I like to put my favourite (and most awkward fitting (Mega CD)) consoles on display in my cabinet lol.

Calavera could you put up some images of Dungeon Master?

Edit: Nevermind

How well does it control with the controller? I imagine not having a mouse is a bit cumbersome?

@Calavera - Brilliant, thanks :thumbsup:

@BluesBrothers - yeah, it's a lovely little machine  I am just gutted that the CPC 664 is too large for it. I really need to find a nice case for it as I am having kittens that it's too exposed where it is :(

That's brilliant news, thanks  I am sure I'll burn a few games until I can get around to affording them :D

@slk - hmm I have to try it as I always used the keyboard... a mouse should fit too - but only controller... I have to try ;)
